he Heritage Foundation's Hans von Spakovsky explains: Reid displays no concern whatsoever over the many liberals, such as George Soros and Tom Steyer, who spend enormous amounts of money in the political field. Or the many unions that support Reid and his political party almost exclusively and who, as Kim Strassel of the Wall Street Journal has pointed out, spend far more on political campaigns than the Koch brothers. Although the amendment sponsored by Udall and supported by Reid would limit fundraising and spending on political speech for Americans, there is one glaring exception in the amendment: It would not apply to the press. The New York Times and MSNBC could continue to spend as much money, newsprint and airtime as they want supporting liberal candidates and attacking conservatives, but other non-media corporations would be strictly limited in what they could do, including conservative advocacy organizations such as the NRA and Heritage Action, which are nonprofits. Candidates and ordinary Americans who wanted to fight back against the attacks of the liberal mainstream media would have their hands tied by a Congress filled with members who want to make sure individuals trying to unseat them (and their supporters) are strictly limited in the amount they could spend to publicly criticize them. Reid seems to disagree with Benjamin Franklin, who wrote that "freedom of speech is a principal pillar of a free government." And for those who say that restricting the money that can be spent on political speech and activity is not the same as limiting speech, that is like saying that the government limiting the amount of newsprint a newspaper can buy does not limit the newspaper's speech. It is a nonsensical argument — just like the arguments being made by Reid to cull the most important amendment in the Bill of Rights.

So when he and his party said "like," he and his party actually meant "can't afford," as in, "If you can't afford your plan, you can keep your plan. Period*." Same for their doctors. How did you like your "lower premiums by $2,500 per year" he promised you, too?
None of this should come as a shock to the Obama administration. The law states that policies in effect as of March 23, 2010 will be "grandfathered," meaning consumers can keep those policies even though they don't meet requirements of the new health care law. But the Department of Health and Human Services then wrote regulations that narrowed that provision, by saying that if any part of a policy was significantly changed since that date — the deductible, co-pay, or benefits, for example — the policy would not be grandfathered. Buried in Obamacare regulations from July 2010 is an estimate that because of normal turnover in the individual insurance market, "40 to 67 percent" of customers will not be able to keep their policy. And because many policies will have been changed since the key date, "the percentage of individual market policies losing grandfather status in a given year exceeds the 40 to 67 percent range." That means the administration knew that more than 40 to 67 percent of those in the individual market would not be able to keep their plans, even if they liked them. Yet President Obama, who had promised in 2009, "if you like your health plan, you will be able to keep your health plan," was still saying in 2012, "If (you) already have health insurance, you will keep your health insurance." "This says that when they made the promise, they knew half the people in this market outright couldn't keep what they had and then they wrote the rules so that others couldn't make it either," said Robert Laszewski, of Health Policy and Strategy Associates, a consultant who works for health industry firms.

There's no question about what Obama was promising the country, since he repeated it constantly during his 2008 campaign. In a debate with Sen. John McCain, for example, Obama said "the only thing we're going to try to do is lower costs so that those cost savings are passed onto you. And we estimate we can cut the average family's premium by about $2,500 per year." At a campaign stop in Columbus, Ohio, in February 2008, Obama promised that "We are going to work with you to lower your premiums by $2,500. We will not wait 20 years from now to do it, or 10 years from now to do it. We will do it by the end of my first term as president."

Not your income tax, not your payroll tax, not your capital gains taxes, not any of your taxes." Americans for Tax Reform posted today a list of taxes that will put the American middle class into the [tax-increase] crosshairs. First, there's the Obamacare individual mandate tax, which target six million families directly. There's also the Flexible Spending Account Tax, which puts "30 - 35 million Americans who use a pre-tax Flexible Spending Account (FSA) at work to pay for their family's basic medical needs face a new Obamacare cap of $2,500. This will squeeze $13 billion of tax money from Americans over the next ten years." And there are more items to this butcher's bill. 1. Obamacare High Medical Bills Tax.... 2. Obamacare Medicine Cabinet Tax.... 3. Obamacare Tax on Union Member and Early Retiree Health Insurance Plans.... 4. Obamacare 10 Percent Excise Tax on Indoor Tanning.... 5. That is just one state, and it is another broken promise. One could also argue that these premium increases are nothing more than tax increases to pay for ObamaCare. So that is another broken promise. Finally, how many of the millions losing the health care plan they like will lose their doctor in the process? Read Our Lips: No New Spending
o let the rich pay their Fair Share™. Except that every "little bit" more they pay must be used exclusively to reduce the national debt. That means no more raises in the debt ceiling. We better start living within our means for a change, else sooner rather than later, everything will go over the cliff. Let us be absolutely clear: All money from all these new taxes, which may not be spent on anything new, will actually make our federal budget less unbalanced. It really would mean A More Balanced Approach®. Make no mistake: The smaller the budget deficit the less new debt is added to the nation's books. Of course, with the debt ceiling permanently pegged at its current record level, real spending cuts would be the only alternative greedy spendaholics in Washington could consider for decreasing that deficit even further. As every credit card owner who's financially in trouble knows, when you've maxed out all your cards and no card company will give you another credit increase, you simply can't keep spending more than you take in. You have to finally start paying off that debt. Which means you have to cut down on your overall spending. This compromise isn't an ideal solution to the out-of-control spending problem we're facing. Higher taxes will slow down and in all likelihood damage, for years to come, vital portions of our economy, and thus significantly hinder every effort to achieve a full recovery. Under the present circumstances, however, it is the most effectual means at our disposal to get Washington to spend less and act more responsibly. And if that doesn't work, we're all doomed.

Zachary's stepfather, of course, is Un¢le $am.
At ten years old, Zachary — or Zack, as he prefers to be called now — weighs only 14 pounds! So his teacher doesn't report him and his parent — singular, not plural — to Moochelle's Fat Nazis®.
A few weeks before his eleventh birthday, Zack takes a walk outside. But the "free" helmet the government issued him has a leak.
So Zack suffers extreme oxygen deprivation and becomes a vegetable.
Unfortunately for him, Øbamoon"Care" requires a test to determine whether Zack is "morally relevant" enough to receive any medical treatment. Zack, of course, fails the test.
The government then tells Julia she is not allowed to give her son any more food because he will no longer be able to feed himself.
Zack starves. Blissfully and euphorically, of course.
A little over a week later, Zack dies.
Julia now regrets using all the "free" contraceptives the government has been giving her over the years so she could repeatedly experience, without any consequences, the joys of low-gravity sex.
Of course, Julia blames Richard Nixon for all her troubles.
After all, if he hadn't "made the call" to put a man on the moon, there never would've been an Øbamoon Colony™.
