Liberal Utopia

What your world would be if everything liberals wanted, they got. Open the door at the bottom of its Elysium façade and take a glimpse of hell.

Aliens abducted my president!

Probably performing unspeakable experiments on his person right now.

M

eanwhile his replacement Dubyalgänger is occupying our nation's highest office, from which it's lavishly rewarding lawbreaking invaders of our country, cruely punishing our country's invited and law-abiding guests, negotiating with terrorists' sponsors, and falsely accusing true conservatives who openly love their country and want only to defend her security and sovereignty, of being ignorant and insular inhumane anti-immigrant defeatists or cowardly rhetoric-spewing demagogues who "don't want to do what's right for America."

Proof of alien interference with the normal development of our culture. Note the coat of arms on "President Bush's" jacket — a dead giveaway. It's really an impostor of the person Americans elected to beat back such invasion.
By all this and more, it's overtly giving aid and comfort to America's deadly doMSMestic enemies.

My theory is that the thing now oozing slime all over our Oval Office furniture is a cyborg clone created by the aliens after unionizing undifferentiated cells from Edrowned Maryjo al-Qennedy's largest anal polyp with those from the anterior sucker of a haemophagic leech swimming in the Rio Grande. It's powered by windmills; which is another reason that the cell donor (Chappy Teddy) finds it so easy to work with.

All in all it's an extremely poor replica of the original preserver and protector of our land we have long appreciated and now sorely miss.

So to our real president being held by aliens, I want to say I admire your courage, I can only imagine what you're going through, and I want you to know we're doing everything in our power to rescue you:

Slowly but surely we're going to, the Lord willing, bring you back home safe and sound.

Peloseri and Losereid's aided and comforted parrot squawks

Al-Qaedaqratic Party's pet mascot has many of its platform's major planks stuck in his craw.

Al-Qaida Video Threatens Attacks on U.S.
Tuesday, May 29, 2007

An American member of al-Qaida warned President Bush on Tuesday to end U.S. involvement in all Muslim lands or face an attack worse than the Sept. 11 suicide assault, according to a new videotape.

Wearing a white robe and a turban, Adam Yehiye Gadahn, who also goes by the name Azzam al-Amriki, said al-Qaida would not negotiate on its demands.

"Your failure to heed our demands ... means that you and your people will ... experience things which will make you forget all about the horrors of September 11th, Afghanistan and Iraq and Virginia Tech," he said in the seven-minute video.

Gadahn, who has been charged in a U.S. treason indictment with aiding al-Qaida,

S

o we do still charge overt aiders and comforters of our enemies with treason.

Hear that, Nologancy Puhhh al-Osi? Harry aL-ostreidch?

Hello?

Oh, forgot. You and your willfully traitorous ilk can't hear any sounds of reality too well down there.

...spoke in English and the video carried Arabic subtitles. The video appeared on a Web site often used by Islamic militants and carried the logo of al-Qaida's media wing, as-Sahab.

Gadahn, who appeared in an al-Qaida video last September in which he called on Americans to convert to Islam, demanded that Bush remove all U.S. military and spies from Islamic countries, free all Muslims from U.S. prisons and end support for Israel. He said a withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq alone would not satisify al-Qaida.

Hear that, too, Democraventraitorats? Your "plan" to surrender Iraq to al-Qaeda beheadocrats' tender mercies in hopes they'll behead y'all last, won't appease them — regardless how many misogynislamic scarves and abayas Dumbasscuss Naggy may drape around her vacuous pointy head at the time.

Clear some of that wax sand out of your ears for a real change of course.

Ben Venzke at IntelCenter, a U.S. government contractor that monitors al-Qaida messages, said the group likely did not believe any of its demands would be met.

Although President Bush's decision to use our Memorial Day to open negotiations with terrorist-supporting, nuke-seeking Mad Mullahs in Iran, whose intentional acts of such support are at this very minute directly killing our Freedoms' Defenders in Iraq, and to blithely flush three decades of our efforts to isolate and contain that despotic regime straight down the toilet and directly deposit the resulting waste all over those brave Defenders' graves, is beginning to shake their belief.

"It essentially allows al-Qaida to say that it has provided fair warning and is thus no longer responsible for the outcome," Venzke said in a statement.

Here's a better "fair warning":

Dear Iran Nutullahs:

We get attacked by al-Qaeda on our soil again, you start looking for a new capital city.

Sincerely up yours,

We the Very Pissed Off People

of the U. S. of A.

Gadahn, a California native, is the first American to be charged with treason in more than 50 years and could face the death penalty if convicted. He also was indicted on a charge of providing material support to terrorists.

And his case is different from Peloseri, Losereid, et al., how?

Memorial Day: It's Not Just For Heroes, Anymore
By Robert Knight
May 28, 2007

To the long list of liberal non sequiturs, such as "Pro-Child, Pro-Choice," we can mark this Memorial Day weekend by adding "Support the Troops: Bring Them Home."

That's the message from former Sen. John Edwards, whose web site is urging people to crash Memorial Day ceremonies and parades with anti-war protests. He's even asking people to take pictures of it all and post them to his Web site. What nifty souvenirs!

We're still waiting for the media outrage over this hijacking of a sacred day to honor the war dead.

Can you imagine being a U.S. Marine and going out today on a mission in Fallujah, Iraq, searching for the killers in the latest civilian massacre, and hearing that a prominent U.S. politician is urging people to hijack Memorial Day for political protests?

Would you feel "supported?"

Also, didn't you hear Mrs. BiIsIs Qlinton and O'Hussein Obama instantly go out in front of the microphones to denounce their fellow party-candidate's sick, self-serving Puddling Troops' Plots With Piss-Poor Politics ploy?

Neither did I.

Climate Change is made of sheeple

Just pulling the wool over your eyes before fleecing you.

L

eading climate scienconcensustists have declared that the domesticated species Ovis aries contributes more to global climate change than all greenhouse gasses combined.

After duplicating an experiment conducted in New Zealand by Dr. Ewe Noh-Watt and his co-workers at the Institute of Veterinary Climatology — the results of which were first published April 1 on foolscap bearing RealClueless.org's letterhead — scienconcensustists reported to the UN's International Pogrom on Contrary Conclusions that anyone who openly disagrees with their findings should be tried by the International Criminal Court on charges of "terrorism aimed at the environment, a form of crime against humanity." Former National Socialist Workers Party leader Adolfus Hitler could not be reached for comment.

Asked whether the newe claims, as some of the "al'Qlima-terrorists" suggest, are either being exaggerated or based soley on cherry picked data to create such a sense of panic that bureaucrats inside rich nations' governments will award him and his colleagues lavish, career-advancing public grants for "additional research," an IPCC scienconcensustist speaking on condition of anonymity responded, "absolutely not."

"However," the scienconcensustist continued, "there is a con us scientists sense, which is that Soylent Green is not made of all people. Just this one:"

"Now children, let me tell you a story," al-Gore began as he spoke to a gathering of liberals and other mental five-year-olds at a recent climoonbat convention in Californistan. He said the greatest danger facing their scamovement is "every baaaaad question raised about it by conservative commentators" and whoever else either lacks his chameleonic qualities or possesses two or more functioning brain cells.

Immigrants: The New Slaves

Same as the old slaves.

T

he inestimable Ann Coulter:

Noticeably, the biggest proponents of the government's policy of importing a huge underclass of unskilled workers are not themselves unskilled workers....

The people who make arguments about "jobs Americans won't do" are never in a line of work where unskilled immigrants can compete with them. Liberals love to strike generous, humanitarian poses with other people's lives.

Those other people being their new slaves and We the Patsies of the United States (but I'm beginning to repeat myself).

The bottom line is liberals hate brown people. Why else would they want to set up a peculiar institution that indentures the latter permanently inside what they hope will be the Demoqratiq Party's very own race-based, government-dependent, slave-labor voting bloc, securely chained to promises of crummy handouts and continually whipped up by fears of losing any such crumbs? Then again, what else would you expect from regressives like those masterfully running the Demoqratiq Party Plantation?

America on Death Row

"You have been found guilty of wanton self-neglect and intentional gross stupidity. I hereby sentence you to death by lethal injection illegal invasion."

W

e're the ones on parole now, not our instant amnestZzzzz-carded illegal alien invaders. If we wish to avoid that death sentence, we must:

Withhold all non-emergency federal funding from every State that permits itself or one or more of its subdivisions to be a federal law-circumventing "sanctuary" for any of the invaders, including but not limited to all normal grants, contracts, matching funds, and federal assistance moneys which that State is otherwise authorized to have and which is not related to our fighting and winning World War IV;

Levy back taxes on every "church" or other tax-exempt entity that has aided, abetted, or otherwise harbored any invaders, from the point they started doing so, then seize its properties and arrest its officers if it fails to cease such illegal operations;

Protect all Border Patrol and other federal agents who are securing our nation's sovereignty, from any malicious or politically motivated prosecution with respect to their acting to provide that security, and discharge or arrest every federal or state prosecutor or judge who orders or willfully assists such prosecution or causes it to proceed;

Deploy to our borders a new, permanent, 50,000-man division of our National Guard whose mission is to stop further invasions and to capture any and all invaders and detain each one inside pre-deportation internment camps set up and maintained by that division, then reduce its number to 10,000 after we win World War IV;

Make willfully invading our country, as Mexico has, a felony federal offense, with a minimum sentence of two years in prison and the forfeiting of custody of all children any invader may have forced to come along with him or her during the commission of that felony invasion until the invader has served that sentence and is deported;

Appoint and authorize licensed bounty hunters to search for, seize, and turn over to the National Guard any invaders at $7,500 a head, and to safely deliver to state child protection agencies all children belonging to such invaders;

Warn the government of Mexico that in six months our country will fully impose total economic sanctions against Mexico unless and until it reduces to no more than 1,000 per year the flow of willful invaders coming from Mexico;

Forever deny all invaders we have caught, detained, or deported the privilege of applying for United States citizenship or guestworker status;

Make willfully hiring or assisting any invader a felony federal offense, with a minimum sentence of one year plus one day in prison and the seizure of any properties directly connected with that illegal employment or assistance;

Immediately begin construction of a provenly effective barrier along our nation's borders to protect us against further invasions, with every 1,000 miles of it along our southern border and every 500 miles of it along our northern one both fully completed by the end of each fiscal year; and

Authorize the president and responsible federal agencies to fast-track the lawfully documented citizenship or guestworker applications of every legal immigrant who has successfully passed a thorough criminal background check.

Granting amnesty in any way, shape, or form to willful invaders is not just an abuse of those powers we vest in our national and state governments, but the murder-suicide of our country and her laws. The only thing left for us to do after the crime scene tape is placed around our borders in lieu of any effective barrier there, is to lay our sovereignty down on the gurney and passively witness the inevitable carrying out of its death sentence.

'We can refuse to be defeated'

Al-Qaedaqratic Party leaders and other liberals, please ignore this post.

“W

e have a choice. We can either allow our hearts to grow dark or we can refuse to be defeated and use these experiences to make us unshakable." These words commemorating the life of a heroic defender of freedom, Specialist Robert Dixon, 1st Squadron, 4th United States Cavalry, by his commanding officer, Lieutenant Colonel James Crider, speak to the values of Soldiers preserving and protecting the greatest nation ever formed by fallible humans, and to what ties them all together. They also speak to the common citizens of that uncommon nation, invigorating us again with a reminder that we have, time after time, overcome what to any other people would be considered impossible odds; that we are inherently capable of doing so now.

It's the reason many of us are disgusted by the discouraging words spoken far more frequently by some of our leaders which condemn not only themselves in the eyes of history and every future generation of such citizens, but that nation, those values, and those ties.

The American government is not helping, as it is playing its all-too-public political games. Though he may have thought of it as just being between him and his "friends" in the mainstream media and the fringe "Daily Kos" left, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid's (D-Nev.) comment that "the war is lost" and "the surge... hasn't accomplished anything" was splashed on the front page of every news outlet from Al Jazeera to the Iranian state newspaper. Contrary to the beliefs of all too many Americans who seem tied to the notion that the Iraqi people are both blind and ignorant, Congress's votes to set a withdrawal date from Iraq — much like their other, similar votes and statements — were heard with perfect clarity by Iraqis, as well as by the insurgents who take heart from them. These statements encourage Iran to increase its involvement, as well, as they are seeing an increasing political return on their deadly investment in this war. (A Colonel within the MNF-I political apparatus told me that "if you take [Iran] out of the equation... we could probably reduce our casualties almost in half.")

"I had people coming up to me as we patrolled the neighborhoods saying, 'We heard you were leaving,' an officer with Quarter Cav told me. "They don't understand our process; they don't know that this is just rhetoric, or that it will be vetoed. All they know is that the leaders of our Congress said that it's a lost cause, and that our government has voted to pick up and go home."

Such statements by America's political leaders are "terrible," an Army public affairs soldier told me. She continued, "I understand political posturing... but it really is terrible. If the war is lost and we need to go home, then why do we need to stay here five more months, when I could die or my friends could die" for a lost cause? "The war is either over or it isn't; this just doesn't make sense.

"What we want is to keep helping the people here. The people at home who say these things, they don't understand that these are people who have to live here after we leave, whatever the situation is. These people and the things that happen here aren't real to them, and they can't understand unless they've been here and seen it."

Like many Americans at home, there are several soldiers who would like nothing more than to see the US end its involvement with Iraq as soon as possible. There are also many, though, who, having established a presence on the ground, and having spent time among the people of Iraq, want to see this mission through to a successful conclusion, not only for America's sake, but for the sake of the people of Iraq whom they have gotten to know during their time in country.

Our young combat leaders understand — better than senior political leaders at home — how we hold the lives of Iraqis in our hands.

By choosing to be discouraged — to allow our hearts to grow dark and be defeated — we encourage the enemy's leaders to come after us harder in both words and deeds;

In a 67-minute interview released on May 5, known terrorist Shaykh Ayman al-Zawahiri [al-Qaeda's second-highest ranking member] said [al-Qaedaqratic Party leaders'] legislation to tie war funding with a timetable for withdrawal, "reflects American failure and frustration."

to increase their expansionist efforts;

Zawahiri lamented that "this bill will deprive us of the opportunity to destroy the American forces which we have caught in this historic trap" but said it proved jihad "is moving from the stage of defeat of the Crusader invaders and their traitorous underlings to the stage of consolidating Mujahid Islamic Emirate." [emphasis added]

to jusitfy their sacrifices;

Zawahiri said the withdrawal legislation helped to "raise the banner of Jihad as it makes its way through a rugged path of sacrifice."

and to assess our "leaders" and nation as weak and soft.

[Zawahiri's] video was likely encouraged by comments from Democrat leadership. In an April 19 press conference Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D.-Nev.) told media, "This war is lost."

Two days later, in a statement issued from the Islamic State of Iraq, al Qaeda used Reid's declaration as evidence of their success. "In the past few days it became clear to every watcher and observer the magnitude of damage that hits the American administration and the defeated declarations of its leaders about the situation in the field in Iraq," it said. "A serious statement came from 'Harry Reid' the Democrat majority leader in the Congress who said: "'the war is in Iraq is hopeless and that the situation in Iraq is similar to Vietnam War.'"

It is up to us common citizens to refuse to be defeated and to demand that our real leaders refuse to be defeated themselves. In the words of uncommon citizen Nancy Wallace of Celina, Ohio ("Conservative Forum: Reid's Defeatist Democrats Bad for American Security," Human Events, May 14, 2007, p. 22):

Harry Reid is a loser! I am so sick of the Democratic non-agenda for America. How demoralizing for our troops, they should be ashamed!

Reid and his Democratic friends... criticize, bully and make mountains out of molehills for Republicans and show an utter lack of respect for the presidency. Dialogue is always welcome, but what Reid and his friends spew out is mean, full of hatred and not at all constructive. The Republicans are not perfect, but I support their agenda as an honest effort to respond to this crazy world we find ourselves in. The biggest shortcoming by the Republicans is they have not capitalized on what good they have accomplished in a way that average Americans can clearly see.

President Bush has accomplished a lot in his presidency, but the Democrats keep the Republicans busy defending themselves against the Democrats' silly accusations. Come on Karl Rove! You can package and publish an honest account of what President Bush has accomplished. Someone in the Republican Party please get us off the Democratic Party's inane merry-go-round and stand up with a brag sheet!

We, our Troops, and our country would find much to be proud of on that sheet:

Liberated 26.7 million Iraqis from a brutal dictatorship and turned over sovereignty of the country to an Iraqi government in 16 months.

Recruited, organized, trained, and equipped Iraqi Security Forces: 129,000 for Iraqi Ministry of Defense, and 165,100 for Iraqi Ministry of Interior.

Conducted safe and secure elections in Iraq: January 30, 2005 election (55 percent turnout), October 15, 2005 constitutional ratification (63 percent turnout), December 15, 2005 election (78 percent turnout), and permanent Iraqi Government — "the most representative government in the history of Iraq" — seated on March 16, 2006.

Senior leadership of America's enemies have been captured, killed, or made to run: Saddam Hussein’s sons—killed July 22, 2003, Saddam Hussein captured December 13, 2003, Ali Hassan Mahmud al-Tikriti (AKA Chemical Ali) captured August 21, 2003, leader of Al Qaeda in Iraq Al Zarqawi killed June 7, 2006, 45 of 55 of Saddam's top regime in the deck of cards have been killed or captured.

NATO's International Security Assistance Force conducting leadership training and mentoring for Iraqi security forces, with Canada providing a significant financial contribution towards that effort.

More Soldiers and citizens than any al-Qaedaqratic Party leader would ever care to acknowledge in his or her own "heart," much less publicly mention, are refusing to be defeated.

The only triggers worth more than a plugged nickel...

are those on firearms and the one at 3950 Green Mountain Drive, Branson, Missouri.

W

hen the current president of the United States of America (USA) and the president emeritus of Maritime Automobile & Royalty Yachtsmen, Jeroboam Order (MARYJO) both say something is a Good Thing, it raises more red flags than Railly Nonka and the Chocolate City could ever wip out before being struck by a Cat-5 hurricane.

It's not that I distrust everything the T-boat commander says or supports. I believe he was sincere when he came out in favor of "strongly oppos(ing) an environmentally friendly 'wind farm' off the coast of Massachusetts." It's just that on matters affecting in any way our nation's security, the words of a major former-Soviet Union aider and comforter in our Congress, an honorary full-buzzard colonel in the armed forces of al-Qaeda in Iraq "George Bush's Vietnam," a five-star general in the Lushes' Legion of Literal Ladykillers, and the commander-in-chief of Harvard's Spanish Cheaters & Rugby Fistfighters Club, are ones I wouldn't trust farther than even Joe Altas could throw just half of that grotesquely gross mass of 34.2 Body Mass Indexed corruption.

Nothing could be more obviously critical to our nation's security than ensuring that America's enemies are denied even the tiniest loophole in our immigration "laws" through which they may enter and set up sleeper cells in our country. Given that the corpulence of the loophole al-Qennedy recently supported was so excessive even he could jump roll right left through it with more space to spare than the one fully separating his ears, those red flags raised by his support of the New Immigration Deal™ are flapping faster than any assailed by maximum sustained winds of the strongest category five.

Stabbing our president in the back after offering him such "support" has been another unhealthy hobby of the sinuous senator from Massoqueeretts. From the No Child Left Behind Act to our Troops' vital and historic mission in Iraq, the captain of the AKVP Kopechne has already tried to launch his treacherous torpedoes into the side of our ship of state, just so he can sink the person now at her helm. Anyone who believes we won't see more of them skimming the water toward this latest deal Pact with the Devilqrats, should get off the phone with his real estate agent trying to buy that choice seafront property along Arizona's sunny southern shoreline, long enough to read the deal's details. Hopefully before Qarsub Qennedy, who's lurking off that coastline, starts screaming "fire one! fire two!...."

As for the triggers, the first things we need to know are whether the National Guardsmen patrolling "our" border are themselves going to have full authority to confront and detain every border-crossing invader they encounter — as opposed to just calling in sightings of any to someone else — and whether our current and additional Border Patrol agents won't be imprisoned should they have the unmitigated gall of performing their sworn duties there? If not, the value of this deal relative to plugged nickels is about to hit an all-time low.

So call (202) 224-3121 and tell the U.S. Capitol operator, "I'd like to talk to Senator Sellout (or Representative Renege)" — or click here to get his or her direct phone/FAX number. Then let that employee of yours know what you want him or her to do.

al-Qaeda 'epicenter' is Iraq

So what do Denialrats propose? Fight the terrorist butchers where they are?

N

o, of course not. It's let al-Qaeda cowardists enjoy our leaving Iraq to them.

Expert: Iraq new epicenter for al-Qaida

Staff and agencies
15 May, 2007

By PAISLEY DODDS, Associated Press Writer

LONDON - Iraq has become the new epicenter for al-Qaida cells waging holy war against the West, one of the world's foremost experts on terror said Tuesday.

Al-Qeada in Iraq? It's their epicenter, no less?

What was it you were saying not too long ago we should do about this, Madam Screecher?

Pelosi replies. "If the president wants to say the war in Iraq is part of the war on terror, he's not right."

"Do you not think that the war in Iraq now, today, is the war on terror?" [CBS's Lesley] Stahl asks.

"No. The war on terror is the war in Afghanistan," Pelosi says.

"But you don't think that the terrorists have moved into Iraq now?" Stahl continues.

"They have," Pelosi agrees. "The jihadists in Iraq. But that doesn't mean we stay there. They'll stay there as long as we're there."

So if our Troops leave Iraq, al-Qaeda will follow suit? When and how did you acquire such a uniquely prescient insight regarding the terrorist-deployment strategies of al-Qaeda (aka Jihadi Inc.)? Woman's intuition? Wishful "thinking"? DUily MoveOn.kos?

"The epicenter has shifted from Afghanistan to Iraq," he told a (Lloyd's of London insurance market security) conference of business leaders on how to prepare for terror threats.

An al-DNC spokesperson said top Dhimmiqratic Party leaders' reception to this sort of news has been, is, and always will be as follows: "Lala lala lalala We can't hear you. Lalala lalalala. No, don't show Us a printout of it either. Lalala la lala Our eyes are closed. Lalalalala...."

Abu Ayyub al-Masri, who replaced Abu Musab al-Zarqawi in the al-Qaida chain of command, has been building a support base in Europe, he said. Al-Masri, an Egyptian militant, was endorsed by Osama bin Laden after Zarqawi was killed last June by a U.S. airstrike.

That support base in Europe wouldn't include "minority youths" who rioted all across France after her citizens elected a self-professed Friend of America instead of a self-professed appeaser of terrorists, would it?

(Rohan Gunaratna, the head of the International Center for Political Violence and Terrorism Research at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore) said most al-Qaida cells, including north African cells, had people in Iraq.

Maybe it's where they all go on vacation or something. Like a "terrorist Disneyland."

Actually, it sounds like the international terrorist network we're at war with, the same one responsible for killing thousands of our fellow citizens and guests on our own soil while leaving a big gaping hole in the side of our Pentagon and in the New York City skyline, is centered in Iraq.

Just don't bother the Pelosereid al-Qongress with this epic news. They'll do nothing but say "it's Bush's fault!"

They present a real risk because they see the West as a threat to their way of life, he said.

As long as we stay in Iraq, their epicenter, our Troops will make it much more than a threat for every one of these al-Qaeda terrorists. It will spell their way of "life's" complete extinction.

Only to an election-epicentered al'Qaedacratic Party leader would such be considered a Bad Thing.

Case Closed: Demoqrats Don't Support Our Troops

Not after playing politics with the lives of all our extraordinarily brave Combat Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, Airmen, and Guardsmen now fighting our country's desperately cornered but still dangerous enemy on battlefields that are directly draining and destroying his very base of support.

T

he only conclusion any reasonable person can reach after witnessing the antics of al-Qaedaqratic Party leaders controlling the 1st al-Qongress, whose hopeless bills to usurp presidential powers with conditional war funding have — as they very well know — no chance of becoming law, but which already have — as they know or should know even through their blind partisanship and collective state of denial — encouraged our country's enemy and given him much comfort and hope for continuing and increasing his fight against us and our interests, is that these same al-Qaedaqratic Party leaders are resorting to the last, most despicably underhanded means they feel they have left to stop us from fighting him back: Abuse their sacred public trust even more by way of a defund-by-default stonewall strategy that does effectively nothing for our Troops besides hinder their efforts and morale, thus setting them all up for so many massive kills on the battlefield that we here still safe at home solely because of those efforts will

Iranofascists Watch & Learn

The Western powers, especially the United States, still wield immense military and economic power that "looks formidable on paper." But they are unable to use that power because their populations have become "risk-averse."

"The Western man today has no stomach for a fight," [Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's "chief strategic guru" Hassan] Abbasi says. "This phenomenon is not new: All empires produce this type of man, the self-centered, materialist, and risk-averse man."

[al-Qongressional al-Queen Narly Peloseri's chief strategic guru Jack "Okinawa"] Murtha: "Our troops have become the primary target of the insurgency," Murtha said in a Capitol news conference that left him in tears. Islamic insurgents "are united against U.S. forces, and we have become a catalyst for violence," he said. ". . . It's time to bring them home."

exhibit the same lack of courage and resolve, descend to the same level of despair, and express the same demands for unilateral withdrawals and ultimate surrender which every one of those al-Qaedaqratic Party leaders has.

No Dhimm al'Qrat Party leader really wants our Troops to get the funds they need to protect themselves in combat because, for purely political reasons, she would like to see many more of them die.

That's not, by any stretch of the imagination, supporting our Troops.

On the contrary, what she's doing is supporting the enemy by doing everything in her power to help him prevail in this World War so, as the only real hope she has about its outcome, our country's resulting shameful and cowardly defeat will help her traitorous party prevail in the next election.

To her and her fellow partisan extremists a World War is just another political game. In it they sickenly use the life of every Combat Soldier, Sailor, Marine, Airman, and Guardsman like it were merely one more expedient pawn in their attempts to checkmate a president they derangedly label "King George", whom they feel alone represents the true enemy of that sweeping victory and power in which no one but themselves could revel.

Never do they actually consider as such our country's real and present enemy, whose best hope of international victory and power still entirely rests on receiving more such help from them.

Yet while those al-Qaedaqratic Party leaders, right in the middle of that enemy's fight against us, were willfully and treacherously becoming his most proven allies — and thus our very clear and present domestic enemies — and were hoping no one would notice them turning their coats too with every flip-flop vote in favor of funds and authorizations merely to fool any gullible general-election voters before renouncing only a short time later those very same votes to fool their more gullible primary-election ones, they've never once ever shown — not then and certainly not now — any real desire or intention at all to place anywhere above their extremely narrow-minded and exclusively partisan interests even the least measurable support our Troops need from them to wage all-out and win for all of us this World War.

From Golden Gate Avenue to the Shawal Valley, the enemies of America have long stopped worrying about how much actual support our Troops are or might be getting from al-Qaedaqrats. To them the case is closed tighter than Osama bin Laden's innermost three rings of security. Has been for years.

The most egregious verdict — that they're guilty of conditioning their "support" on America's date-certain surrender — regrettably carries with it a death sentence they're now hanging over all our Troops' heads:

Honorable [sic] Robert C. [short for KKK Grand K Cleagle] Byrd
Chairman - Committee on Appropriations
United States Senate
Room S-131 Capitol
Washington, D.C. 20510-6025

Dear Mr. Chairman:

At recent hearings before the Congress, the latest on March 29 before the House Appropriations Defense Subcommittee, General Pace and I have been asked about the impact that delaying enactment of the supplemental could have on the Department of Defense operations. Considering the importance of this issue to your ongoing deliberations, I want to share our response with you as well as provide additional context.

On September, 2006, the Congress approved the Fiscal Year 2007 Department of Defense base budget and an additional $70 billion for war-related costs. At that time, Department of Defense officials stressed that the $70 billion would be depleted by mid-April or early May of this year and, therefore, a Fiscal Year 2007 Spring Supplemental would be necessary in that timeframe.

As you will recall, last year the Fiscal Year 2006 Spring Supplemental was late and resulted in significant disruption to Army quality of life, training and maintenance accounts. Faced with this delay, the Army began in May to curtail supply orders; cancel non-essential travel, training and conferences; suspend shipments of goods not associated with support to deployed forces; release temporary civilian employees; and freeze new civilian hiring and awarding of new contracts.

While some have suggested that the Army can operate this year until July with existing resources and authorities, in reality there are significant limits, costs and disruptions associated with the budgetary maneuvers necessary to continue Army operations, as we saw last year. The technical and limited ability of the Department to transfer funds should not create a sense of complacency regarding the pressing need for the supplemental.

The overall size of the Department of Defense budget is considerable in the aggregate. However, the Department's ability to move money between accounts to address emergent problems is limited by the Congress. The Department operates under an annual cap limiting the amount of funds that can be transferred between appropriations accounts. For fiscal year 2007, the Department's transfer authority is capped at $7.5 billion, of which $1.7 billion has already been proposed, leaving the Department with $5.6 billion in transfer authority for the remainder of fiscal year 2007.

Given the normal transfers required during any fiscal year, this limitation in transfer authority makes it extremely difficult for the Department to adjust to developing needs. Further, under agreed upon reprogramming procedures, any one of the four congressional defense committees can effectively block a proposed reprogramming.

There is an added complication. This year the Department has experienced increases war-related expenditures. A greater number of forces are deployed and the operational tempo of those forces is higher than projected when the $70 billion war supplemental was approved last fall. Spending rates are higher and, therefore, the impact of a delayed Spring Supplemental is occurring earlier and is greater in magnitude.

Consequently, actions similar to last year are already being initiated by the Army and will accelerate. Specifically, the Army will soon begin to take the following actions:
  • Reducing Army quality of life initiatives including the routine upgrade of barracks and other facilities;
  • Reducing the repair and maintenance of equipment necessary for deployment training;
  • Curtailing the training of Army Guard and Reserve units within the United States, reducing their readiness levels.
The actions of the Department are in consonance with the findings of the March 28, 2007 Congressional Research Service report. That report acknowledges the challenges facing the Army budget and states, "the Amy may very well decide that it must slow down its non-war related operations before money would run out by, for example, limiting the facility maintenance and repairs, delaying equipment overhauls, restricting travel and meetings, and perhaps, slowing down training."

In addition, the Department shortly will be presenting to the Congress a $1.6 billion reprogramming request that proposes to shift $0.8 billion from both the Navy and Air Force military personnel accounts to the Army Operation and Maintenance accounts.

If supplemental funding is not received by mid-May, the Army will have to consider further actions, to include:
  • Reducing the pace of equipment overhaul work at Army depots which will likely exacerbate the equipment availability problems facing stateside units;
  • Curtailing training rotations for Brigade Combat Teams currently scheduled for overseas deployment. Such a step would likely require the further extension of currently deployed forces until their replacements were judged ready for deployment.
  • Delaying acceleration of additional modularized Army brigades necessary to expand the Army unit rotational pool and reduce the stress on existing units.
We can -- and I am certain, will -- have a constructive dialogue about the funding options facing the Department in the weeks to come. However, it is a simple fact of life that if the Fiscal Year 2007 supplemental legislation is not enacted soon, the Army faces a real and serious funding problem that will require increasingly disruptive and costly measures to be initiated -- measures that will, inevitably, negatively impact readiness and Army personnel and their families. [like al-Qaedaqrats care]

As always, thank you for your steadfast support to our men and women in uniform [], and we stand ready to provide you additional information to assist you in your deliberations.

Sincerely,

Robert M. Gates
[Secretary of Defense]

Two days ago al-Qowarda ambushed a two-vehicle convoy carrying seven American Troops and an Iraqi interpreter. The terrorists, who never take prisoners, killed the Iraqi and four of our Troops and left them at the destroyed vehicles. They claim they've captured the three Troops who are missing.

Why were our Troops traveling in only a two-vehicle convoy? Had they been forced by the Demoqrats' budget stonewalling to cut out the usual third, fourth, and fifth protection vehicle from the mission? Where was the forward or back-up convoy? Did Demoqrats' defund-by-default stonewalling force our Troops to leave it behind too?

Is this what appeaser Dhimmiqrat leaders mean by "supporting" our Troops? Cutting off their funds so they're forced to ride through Iraq's "Triangle of Death" less protected than they otherwise would be?

Does it disturb whatever's left of their already insignificant consciences that their greedy power-grabbing hands are now more stained with our Troops' blood? Or that they've made it easier for the terrorists to ambush our Troops' vehicles and make claims of captures which force more of our less protected Troops to go out searching for their missing brothers?

Just one more thing al-Qaedaqratic Party leaders couldn't care less about. Their political games in D.C. are obviously infinitely more important to them than the lives of our brave Combat Troops overseas.

Model derived without needing megabucks in government grants:

I

've figured out what climate change is and how to solve it.

Everyone knows what sofa change is. That's those coins that keep falling out of everyone's pockets when they're sitting on the sofa and wind up in between the cushions. Later on, usually towards the end of the week, someone lifts up those cushions to see if any's there. If he finds some he puts the change in his pocket, where it's then known as pocket change.

Pocket change is great. Unless you've got a hole in your pocket. In that case it'll drop out and go straight down your pants leg. If you're very, very lucky it falls into your shoe, so at the end of the day you can get it back. But that never ever happens. The change just ends up on the floor. Except change usually waits until you go outside before falling out of any holes in your pocket. (There's probably a scientific explanation why it does that, but that's not important here.)

The important thing is is that if you find any change between the cushions and you put it in a pocket that has a hole, it's going to wind up outside on the ground. Usually getting lost somewhere in the grass, and never on the driveway right there in plain sight like it ought. That means the change is going to sit out there for days if not weeks on end, all the while being exposed to all the worst elements of your climate, until your lawn mower rolls over it and kicks it out, usually straight into something or someone you wish it oughtn't have. But that's a different story.

What matters is that the change that's sitting outside in the harsh climate all because of that hole in your pocket has now become climate change.

So if you don't want any climate change out there, you better make sure you first sew up any holes that're in your pockets.

That's how you solve the problem of climate change.

Now I know what you're thinking. What about that "tipping point" that you've heard so many scientists talking so hotly about so much lately? I'm guessing you heard one of them saying we'll reach "a tipping point" soon if we don't do something to stop climate change right now; and that's got you all worried about something falling on top of your home and crashing in your roof right down on top of your and all your family's heads!

Except what they're saying doesn't make sense.

I don't see how climate change can help anyone reach any tipping point. Let's say you go into a restaurant and get really great service. Of course you'll want to leave a nice big tip for the waiter. Luckily you remember that right before you left for the restaurant, you found in between the cushions a bunch of sofa change and put it in your pocket. So you shouldn't have any problem paying that tip with your new pocket change. But because you have a hole in your pocket it's out there in the grass, right where it'd dropped out of you pants leg.

You quickly figure out that it's no longer "pocket change" but is now lying around somewhere outside as so much useless "climate change." The waiter mumbles under his breath you're a big fat cheapskate because even his wonderful service couldn't make you quite reach the tipping point. You're sad. He's sad. Whoever gets bipped in the arm by some of that climate change next time anyone mows your lawn is going to be really sad.

Now if you'd sewn up your pocket before putting that change in it, you'd have had enough pocket change to reach that tipping point.

Instead it's climate change. Which means there won't be any tipping point.

So you see, the only way you can reach "a tipping point" is if you have some pocket change, not climate change. Even if someone else finds the climate change and puts it in his pocket, he won't have it later to reach a tipping point should that pocket have a hole in it too.

Neither he nor you will have any pocket change until one of you first sews up either of those holes.

Protect our borders, Mr. President?

Give them a path to citizenship? They're just doing the jobs no American will do?

F

ox News' Catherine Herridge just reported that three of the six "alleged" terrorists who were planning to massacre many of our Troops at Fort Dix and elsewhere were "undocumented." She doesn't know yet where they "undocumentedly" entered our country.

Strategic Forecasting Inc., however, has the scoop (Google News listing):

U.S. law enforcement sources believe that at least two of the alleged plotters entered the United States illegally via the Texas-Mexico border.

But we have National Guard there patrolling our "border"!

Oh, I forgot, they're not allowed to "engage" invaders when confronted with any:

February 01, 2007

PHOENIX - "Stop Stonewalling."

That's the warning from Arizona lawmakers hoping to find out what really happened earlier this month when four Tennessee National Guardsmen reportedly retreated when confronted by armed illegal immigrants along the border south of Tucson.

Now who alone has authority to give a standing order that they retreat when confronted with "undocumented" "family-valuing" "immigrants" who are invading our country? That order would have to override the normal training and mission of National Guardsmen sent by the president in a long-term emergency situation to "patrol" our constantly breached "border."

Was someone worried about offending the hyphen-"American" aiders and abetters of these invaders and losing their votes if we, I don't know, actually protected our own borders? Would it dry up the cheap, effectively-slave labor supply? Apparently someone forgot that our federal constitution and long-standing laws outright prohibit this kind of activity by any state or person:

The Migration or Importation of such Persons as any of the States now existing shall think proper to admit, shall not be prohibited by the Congress prior to the Year one thousand eight hundred and eight, but a Tax or duty may be imposed on such Importation, not exceeding ten dollars for each Person.

The rest is under Title 18, U.S. Code, Part I, Chapter 77: "Peonage, Slavery, and Trafficking in Persons."

This political correctness, voter pandering, and careless greed is going to get many of us butchered on our own soil if you, Mr. President, as the only one with the power we the people (remember us?) vest in you to — I believe you were saying something about it last year... oh, yes, here it is,

There is still an enemy that wants to do us harm. And the most important job of the President of the United States is to protect the American people from that harm. That's — and I think about it all the time.

— protect us, don't tell the special narrow-interest groups to go roll it all up in tiny little balls and stuff it back up their self-interested agendas so you can get busy getting back to completing the job we hired you to do at our borders.

Authorizing or appointing licensed bounty hunters to hunt down and haul in these invaders would be a better start than playing anymore tag down there with them.

Catastrophic Anthropogenic Climate Change Crisis Mythology; or, Tales of Mother Gaioose

“W
e the Carbophobes of the Gorean Idiotardom, in order to form a perfectly unaccountable liberal utopia, establish international taxation, insure worldwide hysteria, provide for the US’s economic destruction, promote the Giantest. Welfare State. Ever., and secure the bastions of absolute authority to ourselves and our posterior lickers, do ordain and establish this Climate Model O’ Doom™ for all states now raping Mother Gaia.”

Fortunately for us common people, we have Dr. Steven Hayward's engaging documentary feature, An Inconvenient Truth...or Convenient Fiction, to help us explore and untangle the alarmist mythology, selectivist modeling, and socialist affections behind their contemptible, arrogant attempts to suppress all debate, dissent, and everything else they feel stand in the way of their self-serving, lockstep rush to form that tyranny of the masses:

Anthropogenic Global Barking Moonbatism
“When we’ve finally gotten serious about global warming, when the impacts are really hitting us and we’re in a full worldwide scramble to minimize the damage, we should have war crimes trials for these [skeptical] bastards — some sort of climate Nuremberg.”
– David Roberts
Grist Magazine
September 19, 2006

It's included too in a video and MP3 audio of Dr. Hayward speaking at last month's event cohosted by the Pacific Research Institute — where he's Senior Fellow in Environmental Studies — and the Heritage Foundation, titled "An Inconvenient Truth...or Convenient Fiction: Sorting Out Sense from Nonsense on Global Warming." Dr. Hayward is F.K. Weyerhaeuser Fellow at the American Enterprise Institute as well. Ashland University's Ashbrook Center for Public Affairs has an archive of his columns. His commentary on decarbonization appeared two weeks ago at Forbes.com.

Luboš Motl has links to related videos and articles at The Reference Frame. SpaceDaily reports the connection discovered between clouds and cosmic rays, "a missing link in climate theory."

Of course, whoever dares cast a critical eye towards the impenetrable certitudes of their Apocalypse Soon® cult, liberals label "Holocaust global-warming denier" (get it!).

Well, here are just a few more castings from the proud and growing movement of Apocalypse deniers:

Relevant Quote of the Decade
(Sparks from the Anvil)

I think the "carbon footprint police" is blowing the climate change debate way out of proportion. Their goals aren't necessarily that of conservation and better stewardship of natural resources, but to promote and spread socialism by telling others how to live their lives — which is the ultimate goal of the Watermelon brigade (green on the outside, red on the inside).

Man-made global warming is nothing but a wretched hive of junk science and hysteria. Period.

I favor ecological solutions based on free-market principles, and not based on government regulation, Chicken-Little fearmongering, or feel-good groupthink. Such positive steps benefit both the environment and the people who live in it.

Who's picking up the check for our chicken little à la mode?

Wouldn't be US, now would it?

C

ontinuing the UN's Slow-Boiled Frog® approach to swindling the world United States out of her honest, hard-earned wealth and globally redistributing and consequentially reducing that and all nations' wealth:

Climate change cost to be outlined
Financial Times, 04.05.2007

Preventing climate change from reaching dangerous levels will cost between 0.2 per cent and 3 per cent of the world's gross domestic product in a few decades, the world's climate experts are expected to conclude on Friday.

Let's do the math, shall we kiddies?

One year's cost: On the low end we have 0.2 per cent of $45 trillion (source: World Bank — PDF), or $90 billion. We'll call this the Very Conservative Happy Cuddly Flying Unicorn Estimate, or HCFUE.

On that high end of 3 per cent, it's $1.4 trillion per year. This we'll call our Silver Cloudy Rainbow Estimate (SCRE).

Of course, given that government long-term estimates are nominally several factors lower than actual costs to begin with, and given that world bureaucrats have done the estimating here so theirs is more than likely at least a couple of factors lower still, and given that those bureaucrats and the self-righteous elitists enlisting them are all on a self-delusional Holy Mission To Save Mother Gaia From Evil Capitalist Consumption (©1917-2007 Lennin-Gore Ultd.) and thus have a glaring self-interest to underestimate that cost to just above the Pollyannaism Point™ in order to obfuscate as much as possible their true motives and intentions (aka Camel. Nose. Tent. Soon much squeezing required.) so the difference between the actual cost and any of their estimated ones reaches at least the "a world of" level, and finally given that the time span over which our Gaian Missionaries' estimates are supposed to apply would give pause to even the most irresponsible of gypsy soothsayers, we would do well to either dismiss HCFUE and SCRE altogether or take them with every grain of salt ever "rapaciously" strip mined out of the earth object of their worship.

However, although realizing it's always a mistake, let's be charitable towards the deluded zealots. Therefore we'll say they're off by only a factor of five — from their high end. That makes the cost come to at least $7 trillion a year. We'll call this a Compassionately Conservative Estimate.

Now at this point most of us are probably asking ourselves who's going to pay for all this wonderfully good intentioned Mother Gaia saving? If we're assuming the burden will be equally shared by all nations, with each one contributing the same fraction of its GDP as every other to some UN-managed Oil-for-Food Sex-for-Food Magic-for-Fuel Program®, then we obviously have no concept of what liberals mean by "paying your fair share." But don't worry. It's really very simple(-minded): If you're an Evil Rich Capitalist, your "fair share" is 100% of the program's entire cost, while everyone else's is merely to watch you pay it. So with that cleared up, let's MoveOn.soros.

The bottom line is that the United States, whose $12.4 trillion annual GDP is 27.5 per cent of the world's total, won't only be paying its $1.9 trillion a year true fair share, but almost all of the remaining $5.1 trillion as well. Or, in non-socialists terms, over half of our total GDP every year for the next "few decades."

Makes us feel all warm and tingly inside, doesn't it?

The UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, due to finish its week-long meeting in Bangkok on Friday, says the money will be needed for low-carbon technologies such as nuclear power and renewable [magic] energy.

Given that the first low-carbon technology mentioned produces highly radioactive waste that must be buried somewhere (just don't ask these elitists, such as T-boat al-Qennedy, to let you bury it anywhere near their backyards), the only thing we'll see happening in the next few decades is the G'liberal W'alarming crowd and the Anti-Nuke one constantly seeing each other in court.

Of course, by the time we get all the new nuclear power plants designed, licensed, constructed, tested, fully fired up and running, and ready to even partially replace present energy producing systems, al-Gore will already be a few decades into experiencing the inconvenient truth of a subterraneanly global warming that justly awaits all unrepentant frauds, cheats, swindlers, and other overly selfish and incredibly conceited holier-than-thou egomaniac liberalsbirm:

A key aspect of regulatory development for near-term deployment is the efficient implementation of 10 CFR Part 52. Created in 1989, this regulation established three new licensing processes for future plants: early site permitting (i.e., NRC approval of a site before a decision has been made to build a plant); design certification (i.e., NRC approval of a standard design); and combined licenses (i.e., a combined construction permit and operating license). These processes could provide a dramatic improvement over the two-step process used for existing U.S. plants. NRC has stated that an application for a combined license that references an early site permit and a certified reactor design could result in an operating license being granted in as little as one year (Jeffrey S. Merrifield, NRC commissioner, remarks to American Nuclear Society Conference, June 7, 1994). In actuality, however, only the design certification process has been demonstrated thus far, and it has taken as long as 10 years.

Finding the wizard or space alien undocumented extraterrestrial who can suspend E=mc2 and zap us up a miraculous source of magically renewable energy would take even longer.

These costs will be partly defrayed by substantial savings arising from greater energy efficiency needed to cut greenhouse gas emissions.

Let's just ignore the partly bit and focus on the fact that if we're going to take what now works and what now fuels an economic engine that's now efficiently outputting goods and services valued at over $12 trillion and rising, and flush over half of it down the pipe dreams of bobbing bubble-headed "scientists" bureaucrats and hysteria-mongering fanatics whose sole measure of productivity extends to how much hydrogen-based balloon juice they spout, straight into that untreatable backed-up tank pond lake ocean of raw sewage known as the United Nations so it can increase its coffers and expand its already overly lucrative make-"work" jobs program for many tens of thousands more inefficient, overpaid, ineffective, and unaccountable bureaucrats —

And that brings us to a feature of the UN system... that has helped to shield it from thoroughgoing investigation. Since its founding, the institution has added untold numbers of agencies, funds, commissions, programs, "ad-hoc bodies," and "other entities," to the point where most of the UN's own personnel do not know who reports to whom, or how. The Secretary-General himself, when questioned last year by the Volcker commission, professed not to understand his own chain of command.

— our country will wind up so impoverished there won't be enough of its wealth left to swindle for any part of the UN's Save Mother Gaia Program.

Before any of us start thinking this is some unintended consequence of that proposed path paved with their goods intentions, to such fanatics on a mission it too "sounds like a plan."

The final outcome still would be the only one they prefer: An "Evil" U.S. undergoing reductions not just in her carbon emissions but also in terms of her economic and military strength and, consequently, her global influence and power.

So, boys and girls, do any of you know why they would want to harm us like that? Yes, Billy? What? No, it's not because "they're on a meth-crazed murderous rampage." Although you're close. OK, Jane, I see your hand up. What's your answer?

Bingo! For those in the back who couldn't hear, Jane said it's because "they want to teach us a lesson." Now I'll give a gold star to whoever can tell me exactly what that lesson is. Jane? Not sure yet? All right, let's hear from... John. Yes, John, what lesson do you think they want to teach us? No, I'm not picking on you. We really want to hear what you think. Just take your time.... Ah, very good. John says it's "stop being soooo arrogant!" But that's not specific enough. Anyone else want to give it a shot? Mary, I just saw your eyes light up. Do you know what it is? That's right!

Mary said the lesson they want to teach us is "stop being so successful, it's making the rest of us look very bad." I'm awarding her the gold star.

And with that we can ignore the rest of the sentence too.

However, there is still fierce debate over the projected costs and the economic models on which they are based, and arguments continued late last night in Bangkok.

It ended with a toss-up between the French socialist's slightly battered Magic 8-Ball® (after ignoring its frustratingly frequent "Answer Unclear — Please Try Again's") and the Cuban sycophant's uncheery assortment of fingernail clippings and chicken bones.

The IPCC's estimates could change markedly in the report it is due to release on Friday.

That is, once someone throws that idiotic 8-Ball straight out the window.

"The models assume a perfect world, of perfect information and perfect markets," said a delegate to the negotiations.

What else would liberals assume? Being they're always so perfect and all.

"But there is more and more convergence, things are speeding up."

As is often the case whenever a swindler starts to realize his potential swindlee isn't buying any of his concocted swill. That fearful desperation he feels deep in his gut is saying most insistingly, "Talk faster. You're losing him!"

This is the third and final part of the most authoritative assessment of climate change to date, which has been six years in the making and drawn on the work of more than 2,500 scientists.

None of which or whom has applied any such parts or years towards authoritatively assessing the effects of, say, a certain 865,000-mile-wide object with a core temperature of 27,000,000°F only eight light-minutes away whose interior could easily hold over a million Earths Mother Gaias.

Nah. How could any of that be relevant to UN-authorized "scientists"?

Its key findings have to be unanimously agreed upon by more than 100 governments, including the US, China, India and the European Union, and will form the basis for international policy for years to come.

The hysterical fanatics are letting those governments swindlees believe they have a real say-so in the matter? Haven't the former already decided what's best for them all?

Anyway, by the time such agreement is reached the duly departed al-Gore will be working on his hundredth inconvenient snowman. In the meantime, we'll be hearing the fanatics claim "there's so much more that needs to be done" as they head off to their hundredth UN-approved "conference." Sweet "work," if you can get it.

Kiddies! I believe we just answered our own questions.

Friday's report aims to set out the likely costs of cutting emissions and to recommend the methods of doing so. It is the most contentious, because governments such as the US and China disagree with the EU on how much should be spent on the problem and by what means.

It's so simple even a knuckle-dragging liberal could figure it out: We all ride around on our bicycles while al-Gore and his flock fly around the globe in their carbon-emitting private jets to see whether we're all riding our bikes like good little workers of the world.

Then we could all unite or something. After all, all we have to lose are our bicycle chains!

If the governments fail to agree the report on Friday, it will be a severe setback for negotiations on a successor to the Kyoto protocol, whose provisions expire in 2012.

Obviously, "more work [grants awarding] needs to be done."

China is poised to take over from the US as the world's biggest emitter and is anxious that an agreement to cut emissions could put a brake on its economic growth.

Silly, China. It's very easy: Stop being so economically successful and the hysteria mongers won't whine about you anymore.

The US wants the emphasis to be on new low-carbon technologies and voluntary measures rather than binding targets.

There is no agreement among governments about whether the world should set a target for stabilising the quantity of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere at a level that scientists argue is safe.

Might as well set targets for stabilizing the number of sunspots at a more safe level.

But don't expect us to take any wooden sunspot credits from Generation Investment Management then, either.
