They say 99 ganging up against 1 is "fair." That that minority shouldn't be entitled to the same equal justice under law the majority of "us" enjoy. Because "we" are more special than "they." "They" are inferior — even less than human — in character, morals, and behavior. Compared to "us," "they" will never, ever be fit enough to deserve true equality. So "we" can subject "them," for example, to both separate and unequal taxation.
That's what liberals mean by "fair."
