Killer drones. Kill lists. Killing innocent civilians. Getting our Troops and Ambassadors killed. Yep. That's fostering a "new climate" in international relations.
Imagine that you're a Nobel Peace Prize-winning president who presides over a controversial drone program that sneaks into countries that are not at war with America (such as Yemen) and kills Americans who aren't even terrorists. Your Attorney General has also made it clear that, under certain circumstances, your drone program can kill Americans in America.
Oooh, that's so not good for your Peace Prize reputation. What do you do? Simple: Deny, deny, deny — but only after you first establish "that the other guy was worse."
on't forget Iran and North Korea and their nuclear weapons build-up, either. That's some more "peace" for us.
Four years of dithering and charm offensive have let Iran and North Korea go forward virtually unchecked in their nuclear ambitions. Now those chickens are starting to come home to roost....
Last week North Korea cancelled the armistice it had with South Korea and declared their right to launch a preemptive nuclear strike on the US in retaliation for new sanctions imposed on them.
North Korea has already thumbed its nose at Obama by conducting underground nuclear explosions and successfully launched a missile capable of striking the US. All of this in the face of "stern" threats from the paper tiger Obama administration.
Ominously, in the other tiny[*] country of Iran, the acquisition of much faster centrifuges will speed up the time it takes to get them enough enriched uranium for nuclear weapons — again all of this in the face of "stern" threats and trade sanctions from the Obama administration.
But al-Qaeda terrorists are on the
march "run," so everything's fine. Yes We Can™ believe that:
[A] once-weakened al Qaeda in Iraq has resurged in Iraq and has extended its reach into neighboring Syria, where the terror group is wielding an effective fighting force (Al Nusrah Front) that has taken control of significant areas in that country....
The war in Iraq smolders on, and AQI has spread to neighboring countries, while the organization's rising influence in the region has in turn helped reseed the terror group in Iraq. The [Øbawarmonger] administration's failure to negotiate a 2011 deal with the Iraqi government that would have allowed the US to maintain a small counterterrorism force in the country has given AQI the time and space to regenerate capacity that was decimated during the 'surge' in 2007.
With all this
war "peace" Øbamoke's giving us, the Nobel prize committee should be very proud of the decision it made four years ago.
